I hope this tribe will be a gathering place for all who like music written and sung and played by women. I know some of these artists have their own tribes already, but feel free to join this one too and pass around information and opinions about your favorite musicians, shows, albums, songs, etc. Joining is easy - just mail me and say you want to join and you're in. Use this tribe to promote your chick band if you want. My initial list of artists includes: Dar Williams, The Nields, Erin McKeown, Liz Phair, The Breeders, Iris Dement, Elastica, Tori Amos, Sarah McLa, Ani, Ana Egge, Allison Krauss, The Be Good Tanyas, Lucy Kaplansky, Kelly Willis, Nanci Griffith, Tara McLean, ... more people I'm forgetting, especially on the punk side. Think Lillith Fair if you want. Feel free to add more people to the above list. The only constraint is that pop-divas are not allowed. Go talk about your britneys and jessicas somewhere else.
